ZinKlad MG & MGL is a unique, hexavalent chromium-free coating system designed to provide outstanding performance while minimizing galvanic corrosion at the light metal interface. It combines a homogenous metallic zinc deposit of 12 to 30 microns thickness, with a high build iridescent passivate and a multi-layer clear topcoat. The unique properties of ZinKlad MG & MGL consistently meet minimum performance demands for corrosion and torque modification.
ZinKlad MG & MGL deposits are applied from our specialist range of Envirozin and Kenlevel branded zinc electroplating processes. These are formulated to provide uniform, bright and adherent zinc deposits that are ductile and rapidly achieve minimum thickness for optimum coverage.
ZinKlad MG & MGL zinc systems are completed with the application of a high build trivalent passivate followed by a specialist topcoat layer. ZinKlad MG utilized a unique sealer/topcoat capable of producing an insulating layer between the two dissimilar metal. ZinKlad MGL offers the same corrosion performance and galvanic protection, while incorporating an integral lubricant into the finish, (COF of 0.09 – 0,14 per VDA 235 -101 ).
